BRAVES REPORTEDLY REUNITING WITH POSTSEASON STAR TO ADD MUCH-NEEDED DEPTH
The Atlanta Braves have been linked to a handful of players with the trade deadline approaching and made a move on Friday without having to give anyone up.
Atlanta has had its depth tested this season with a handful of high-impact injuries popping up and made a move to address this fact on Friday by reportedly reuniting with outfielder Eddie Rosario on a minor league deal, according to MLB.com's Mark Bowman.
"Eddie Rosario has signed a Minor League deal with the Braves and will report to Gwinnett tonight," Bowman said.
Rosario has spent some time with the Braves throughout his career already and joined the team in 2021. He played an important part in Atlanta winning the 2021 World Series and even was named the National League Championship Series Most Valuable Player.
He remained with Atlanta in 2022 and 2023 but left the club ahead of the 2024 campaign and joined the Washington Nationals. He has mightily struggled so far this season and was slashing .183/.226/.329 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs before being designated for assignment and released.
If he can get back on track in the minor leagues it wouldn't be shocking to see him back up at the big league level at some point soon with the Braves. Atlanta needs some help in the outfield and it seems like Rosario will provide more depth for the club.
