NASCAR TRUCK SERIES DRIVER PULLED HOURS BEFORE RACE AT NASHVILLE

Thad Moffitt has already seen his weekend at Nashville Superspeedway come to an end before turning any laps.

The 23-year-old driver was tapped to drive the No. 46 truck for the new Faction46 team at the start of the season. However, he will be replaced by Dawson Cram for Friday's Rackley Roofing 200 at Nashville, with Moffitt being forced to sit out the 13th race of the season.

Moffitt and Faction46 have struggled mightily in their first year together, as the team's only finish higher than 24th came in the ninth race of the season at Darlington, where Moffitt put forth an 18th-place effort.

Moffitt issued a short statement on Friday afternoon.

"Unfortunately, due to circumstances out of my control, I will not be racing this weekend at Nashville," Moffitt said in the statement, which was posted social media post. "It's frustrating and disappointing for me, our sponsors, and all of our fans who have helped support me this season. But, as we work towards our next steps, I'm confident that I'll be back on the track very soon. I look forward to seeing you at Pocono."

Based on the nature of Moffitt's comments, it's clear that he believes he'll be back in the No. 46 truck at Pocono on July 12. With an off weekend situated between Nashville and Pocono, Moffitt and team executives will have an opportunity to talk about the situation and decide on his future with Faction46 moving forward.

As for Friday's race, Cram seems to be a suitable replacement for Moffitt. Cram himself has run 31 Truck Series races in his career and also has 24 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series to his name.

The No. 46 truck will have to qualify its way into Friday's race on speed, making the qualifying session (5 p.m. ET, FS2) all the more important for Cram.

The green flag will fly for the Rackley Roofing 200 just after 8 p.m. ET, with coverage on FS2, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
