CHICAGO SKY ANNOUNCE MAJOR ROSTER CHANGE AFTER LOSS TO ACES

The Chicago Sky have officially released guard Kysre Gondrezick after their 95-83 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.

Gondrezick is a former No. 4 overall pick from the 2021 WNBA draft class, taken by the Indiana Fever where she played one season. WNBA fans online reacted to the shocking release of Gondrezick, sharing their honest thoughts on the move from Chicago.

"She didn’t really get a chance, but I hope she lands on another team," said one fan.

Gondrezick ended her time in Chicago, averaging 1.7 points and 0.9 rebounds in 3.2 minutes of game action. She played in just five games in 2024 after working through an undisclosed injury she suffered in the preseason.

"Why would you do that??" said another fan.

WNBA fans seem to be infuriated given Gondrezick's close relationship with rookie Angel Reese. They also believe she didn't get the fair opportunity she deserves in Chicago, playing just over three minutes a game.

Gondrezick isn't necessarily a star on the court, but she's blown up all over social media, mainly because of her relationship with former NBA player Kevin Porter Jr. and recent buzz with NBA Champion Jaylen Brown.

She was recently seen at the Boston Celtics' Championship parade holding Brown's Finals MVP trophy. While this was a surprising move by the Sky, they may be looking to bulk up another position or potentially bring in a younger player.
