LUKA DONCIC GETTING ROASTED AFTER PERFORMANCE IN SLOVENIA-CROATIA GAME

It has been a few weeks since Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks saw their season end at the hands of the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals. Now, Doncic is suiting up for Slovenia as they prepare for the Summer Olympics in Paris. 

On Tuesday, Doncic's team faced off against Croatia, and Croatia got a 108-92 victory. Doncic grimaced in pain at various points of the game but finished with a triple-double (26/11/10). 

However, fans took note of his poor shooting. Doncic shot just 8-of-23 from the field including an 0-of-9 mark from three-point land (h/t Mike Curtis of The Dallas Morning News). 

It was a rough outing for Doncic in a losing effort, and the jokes came in after his performance. 

"Summer stat padding don’t count just rest baby bro," one X user mentioned. 

"Did you mean “Never stops bricking.”? I made as many threes as Luka did today (8-23 from field, 0-9 from 3PT)" Kyle Calcagno on X mentioned. 

After the loss, a lot of people made the same "Despite the loss" joke on social media. 

"Despite the loss man takes no days off." JT enjoyer wrote. Another user wrote, "Meet despite the loss man." 

The jokes just kept on coming, and it's not going to be a good look for Doncic. 

This was the first game of the pre-Olympic qualifier tournament, and it began with a loss and a poor shooting effort from Doncic as fans also called for him to rest up and get ready for next season. 

In the exhibition game against Brazil at the end of June, Doncic scored 32 points with seven rebounds and seven assists but also shot just 2-of-8 from beyond the arc. 

It will be worth watching to see how Luka Doncic plays in Slovenia's next contest.
