PHILADELPHIA 76ERS WANT TO BRING BACK POWER FORWARD

The Philadelphia 76ers are putting the pieces in place as they look to build a Championship contender. They already have solved the major problem by bringing in Paul George, who will form a Big Three with Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid.

No matter which way you look at it, that is one of the best trios in the entire league. That does not automatically make the 76ers contenders though.

Now, it is about building the rest of the roster around them. And the 76ers have been making some interesting moves in that respect as well.

They have handed two-year deals to Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andre Drummond, and brought in Eric Gordon for a year on the veteran's minimum.

Now, it looks like they have an interest in reuniting with Marcus Morris Sr. who left the 76ers just some months ago.

He was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in February but did not play any games for them and was waived by the end of the month.

Morris did end up finding a team for the rest of the season in the Cleveland Cavaliers and ended up having a decent 15-minute per game role with them.

According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the 76ers have interest in signing the power forward to a free-agency deal. However, the Detroit Pistons, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat and Minnesota Timberwolves have also expressed some level of interest in Morris.

In his short stint with the 76ers, Morris played 37 games during which he averaged 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 17.2 minutes while shooting a solid 40.0% from beyond the arc.

Morris was a positive for the team, not only with his play on the court but his leadership qualities too. And it looks like the 76ers want that back in the house as they look to challenge for the Championship moving forward.
