THREE MORE CANDIDATES HAVE INTERVIEWED FOR TEXAS A&M BASEBALL'S HC JOB

What a week it has been for Texas A&M's baseball program, as the shocking news that now former head coach Jim Schlossnagle would leave to head the Texas Longhorns just a day after the Aggies played for the College World Series Championship has been on the biggest stories in all of sports media.

While more information emerges regarding his abrupt exit, Texas A&M AD Trev Alberts is focused on hiring Schlossnagle's replacement as soon as possible. He has already interviewed a long list of candidates over the last two days.

While plenty of rumors (mostly unfounded) have spread on social media, D1Baseball's Kendall Rogers provided his latest update, combined with insider information from TexAgs' Billy Liucci.

On Friday, Rogers confirmed that three candidates, including Oklahoma's Skip Johnson, Wake Forest's Tom Walter, and former Texas A&M hitting coach Michael Earley, who recently followed Schlossnagle to Austin, have all interviewed for the open position. Do these three options represent the finalists for the job? Time will tell, and a decision could be made as soon as this weekend.

Of the three, Earley is the only coach without any head coaching experience but is an excellent recruiter with obvious ties to the roster, including star hitters Jace LaViolette and Gavin Grahovic, who entered the transfer portal earlier this week.
