TYLER REDDICK VISIBLY SHAKEN IN POSTRACE INTERVIEW DESPITE P3 FINISH AT NASHVILLE

After running up front all day long and outlasting other leaders, Tyler Reddick came home P3 and he was more than upset after the race. It is clear the NASCAR driver feels like he let one get away.

Tyler Reddick gets a strong finish, one that he needed badly. However, he knew that he had a win in his hands. Five overtime restarts. He was the only car up front that had been up front for most of the Ally 400.

Instead, Reddick finishes P3behind winner Joey Logano and runner-up Zane Smith. A wild and chaotic overtime finish.

After the race, Reddick was asked if he could have done anything differently.

“Everything, yeah. It’s very disappointing,” Reddick said.

He was trying to keep his cool the entire time.

“I’m trying my best, Kim, but it’s tough. I’m trying to keep it cool at the moment, I’m really upset about how that ended.”

As far as taking away any “positives” from the P3 finish? Don’t even think about it. Tyler Reddick isn’t going to let this one go easily.

“No. All the good cars ran out of fuel and we were in position to pass 22, hadn’t been good all day long. Didn’t get the job done. So…”

When drivers have bad days like this, it can’t last long. Reddick has to work through this so he can move on to the next race. Chicago won’t be easy. Neither will the rest of the regular season.

Since joining 23XI Racing, Reddick sees himself as a championship-caliber driver. And he is. What he has done in the Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and early on in his Cup Series career is nothing short of impressive.

This one slipped away.

Tyler Reddick fails to capitalize among the chaos

This race really looked like it was going to be Christopher Bell’s to lose. Then he wrecked out. After that, Denny Hamlin was more or less in control. With challenges from Ross Chastain, he had to battle late in the race.

By the time we got to the fourth overtime, the leaders had either wrecked or ran out of fuel. Hamlin included. The door was wide open. Everything was starting to fall into place. Reddick had gone to pit road on lap 301, this race lasted 331 laps.

Even though Logano pitted on lap 221, he made it on fuel. Others weren’t able to. But the 22 car, which struggled to find speed all day today, was able to make it.

Tyler Reddick is going to be thinking about this one a lot tonight. If he wants to build off this momentum then he needs to push this to the back of his mind and move on as soon as possible.
