UCONN'S PAIGE BUECKERS MAKES MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT ON BASKETBALL FUTURE

UConn star guard Paige Bueckers surprised a lot of people when she decided to forgo the 2024 WNBA Draft in favor of one more season as as Husky.

But Bueckers has announced on Friday morning that this upcoming season at UConn will likely be her last.

Per an X post from Hearst reporter Maggie Vanoni, "At Storrs for media with local reporters, UConn women’s basketball star Paige Bueckers confirms she plans on this upcoming season being her last in college but also reiterates that she tries not to plan too much into future".

Bueckers technically has two seasons of NCAA eligibility left. This is due to her receiving a medical redshirt as a result of tearing her ACL and missing 2022-23 season and having the additional year of eligibility due to what she lost during COVID.

Therefore, she could beat UConn until 2026 if she wanted.

While Bueckers didn't officially announce that the 2024-25 season would be her last with Geno Auriemma and UConn, today's announcement makes it clear that Bueckers has her sights set for the WNBA sooner rather than later.
